One of the key engagements we performed in this domain has been for a multi billion-dollar company where we were engaged in the areas of life sciences, communications, electronics and semi conductor products. The challenge involved was to manage a large volume of data collected from the network switches in the form of Call Detail Records (CDRs), perform various operations on them and load the information in an Oracle database for processing by clients’ tools or other applications. Persistent developed the complete solution - extracting data from switches, developing ETL tool for generating CDR data through cleansing, translation, enrichment, correlation, etc., generating the data warehouse, reporting using Crystal Reports and developing application modules for billing and fraud analysis. Our solution enables the telecom operators to measure, record and judge inter-carrier traffic that helps service providers to negotiate profitable and accurate interconnect agreements. Our client has been able to save millions of dollars for their customers using this solution.
