Raj Sirohi – President, Persistent Systems, Inc. USA
Raj Sirohi, President, Persistent Systems, Inc., brings with him a rich IT experience of over 25 years. Having offered his expertise to organizations such as HCL Technologies, in India as well as in the US, and Covansys Corporation, Raj Sirohi is known to have shown his organizational skills in putting together customer-focused teams of high-caliber achievers who have delivered remarkable performances.
As part of the team that evolved the Entry Strategy and Business Plan for HCL Technologies, USA, he was responsible for building $400 million of revenue. He was responsible for P&L of the US operations, of their IT outsourcing business and for worldwide BPO revenue. While at HCL Technologies, USA, he provided operation leadership in integrating acquisitions for HCL Technologies, he also served as the Director on the Board of four HCL Companies.
Prior to his assignment in the US, Raj Sirohi worked with the Indian operations of HCL. In the process, he garnered significant experience in sales, product and project management functions. He is credited with having initiated the concept of verticalization in the company by starting an industry-focused group to address a market segment.
Raj Sirohi was also a part of Covansys Corporation that dealt with global consulting and technology services, as the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, worldwide. A graduate in business and economics from the University of Delhi, he has also completed an advanced management program from the Harvard University.

S. P. Deshpande – Founder and Director
S. P. Deshpande is the Founder and Director of Persistent Systems and has been associated with the company right from its inception. An Electrical Engineering graduate from Jabalpur Engineering College in 1958, S. P. Deshpande has worked in some of India's leading engineering companies. Between 1958 and 1982, he worked with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) in several departments specializing in transportation systems.
In 1982, he joined Kirloskar Pneumatic Company Limited (KPC) as the Associate Vice President and the Head of Materials Division. During his eight and half years with KPC, he also worked in QA, manufacturing services and R & D divisions. At KPC, he was credited for improvising the systems to reduce inventories, increase the turnover and to improve the processes for payments to the suppliers. He retired from KPC as the Vice President in October 1990.
At Persistent, S. P. Deshpande is responsible for purchase, accounts, finance, secretarial, legal as well as entire administration functions.
He also founded the Software Exporter's Association of Pune (SEAP) in the year 1998 to foster better interaction among software export units in Pune for their mutual benefit. He heads the administrative functions at Persistent Systems including General Administrations, Human Resources, Purchase, Accounts, Finance, Secretarial, Legal and Facilities. He has been a member of our Board since 1991.

Dr. Srikanth Sundararajan – Chief Operating Officer
Dr. Srikanth Sundararajan, Chief Operating Officer of Persistent, amassed more than 20 years of innovative international IT experience with Hewlett-Packard (HP), Informix that was his own successful startup, HCL Technologies and Cognizant Tech Solutions.
During this tenure at HP, he was a part of the original team that architected and implemented the first IDE on Unix for C/C++/Cobol called SoftBench. This core technology was licensed by industry leaders such as IBM, CDC, Informix and Honeywell-Bull. At Informix, he ran the tools side of the business and delivered the first Graphical 4GL development environment as a product line.
Dr. Srikanth founded a winning software product services business. Over a nine year period, his company provided design/architecture/implementation consulting expertise to companies like SUN, SGI, HP, and SAIC, registered triple digit growth six straight years, and gained recognition as one of the Top 100 Private Companies in the Bay Area three years in a row. His firm was acquired in 2001 by a BEA Systems Inc spin off.
Subsequent to this, he transitioned to India as the Chief Technical Officer of HCL responsible for delivery and all strategic technology initiatives. He was responsible for the consolidation of the services revenue stream and technology initiatives between the HCL group companies. Following this, Dr. Srikanth became the worldwide CTO for Cognizant, where he drove all technology initiatives for customers and provided a technology roadmap for competitive advantage. He was also responsible for setting up and driving world wide product development for International Decision Systems, a financial services product company.
Dr. Srikanth earned a B.Tech degree from IIT Madras, and attained his M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer and Information Sciences from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
