Usability Engineering  

At Persistent, usability engineering is recognized as the strategic differentiator of tomorrow’s software products. We understand that ‘ease of use’ just does not happen, rather it must be engineered into a product. We also understand that for the end user, the user interface ‘is’ in fact the product.

Our mission is to extend our vision to developing products that are practical, useful, usable and satisfying to product end users, as well as our customers.

We get engaged early on in the product development process to bring in the end users' perspective into the product requirements, before expensive investments are made in developing wrong or missed requirements. This ensures a usable product for the end users, less reworking costs for the development team, and guarantees a Return on Investment (ROI) to the customers. Our unique expertise, however, is not just in understanding and designing to user needs. It also lies in working hand-in-hand with the development team and offering usability implementation support. We ensure that: 

• The usability is integrated with the technology, and 
• The user experiences ease of use, without the hurdles of the technology.  

We work with a number of different software development methodologies including Agile, RUP along with the more traditional Waterfall method.

We also undertake direct consulting projects with clients and engage at any stage in the product development life-cycle.
